How London Exam Centre Uses Cookies on This Website
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which cookies we use on this website, why we use them, and how you can manage your cookie preferences. By continuing to use this website, you consent to our use of cookies as described in this policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to website owners about how their site is being used.
Cookies do not contain personally identifiable information on their own, but they may be linked to personal data that you have provided to us. For more information about how we handle personal data, please see our Privacy Policy.
2. Cookies We Use
We use three categories of cookies on this website: essential, analytics, and functional. The table below provides an overview of the cookies currently in use.
| Cookie Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| XSRF-TOKEN | Cross-site request forgery protection for form submissions | Session | |
| london_exam_centre_session | Maintains your session state across page requests | 2 hours | |
| _ga | Google Analytics — distinguishes unique users and sessions | 2 years | |
| _ga_* | Google Analytics — maintains session state for GA4 | 2 years | |
| remember_me | Remembers your login preference if you choose "Remember me" | 30 days |
3. Essential Cookies
Essential cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function correctly. They enable core features such as security, session management, and form submission. Without these cookies, the website cannot operate properly.
Essential cookies do not require your consent under UK PECR (Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) as they are necessary for the provision of the service you have requested. You cannot opt out of essential cookies while continuing to use this website.
4. Analytics Cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our website. Analytics cookies collect information in an anonymised form, including the number of visitors, the pages they visit, and how they arrived at the site. This helps us improve the website and the services we offer.
Google Analytics data is processed by Google LLC. For more information about how Google uses this data, please visit google.com/policies/privacy/partners.
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
5. Functional Cookies
Functional cookies allow the website to remember choices you make and provide enhanced, personalised features. For example, a functional cookie may remember your login preference if you select "Remember me" on the login page.
These cookies do not track your browsing activity on other websites and are used solely to improve your experience on this website.
6. Third-Party Cookies
Some pages on our website may include content from third-party services (such as embedded maps or social media widgets) that may set their own cookies. We do not control these cookies and they are governed by the privacy policies of the respective third parties.
Third-party services that may set cookies include:
- Google Maps — if an embedded map is displayed on our contact or about page
- Google Fonts — for web font delivery (no tracking cookies)
- Social media platforms — if you interact with any social sharing buttons
